Small Unit Tactics and Raids is an excellent book about modern military tactics for people who are curious about why units move and fight the way they do. I got this as a gift for a friend who plays Dungeons and Dragons but doesn't know how to think tactically. The photos, diagrams and text explain things in clear terms so they are accessible to civilians and others with little to no background in military history of manouvers.

This book is hands-down the best book I have ever read on tactics. As a citizen it is very difficult to scour YouTube and feild manuals for tidbits of hidden knowledge this boom has saved me so much time.

" Small Unit Tactics ” will right away make you feel as if you are reading top-secret info on the best on-the-ground tactics of war. You’ll feel like you’re a part of the planning and action and have all the knowledge you need to carry out a successful mission, whether it’s a long-term endeavor or something shorter that will allow soldiers to “return home in time for hot chow,” as the author writes at the start. Of course, no one likes all-out war, or at least no one should at this point in the world’s battle-filled history. “ Small Unit Tactics ” doesn’t glorify what goes into being on the successful side of clashes, but it also doesn’t shy away from what’s necessary to win those conflicts.
