IMT, Crawl

The Individual Movement Technique (IMT) of crawling is a foundational skill in military, tactical, and survival settings. It enables individuals to move stealthily and effectively across challenging terrain while minimizing exposure to threats.

Crawling involves moving low to the ground to maintain a small silhouette and reduce visibility. There are two primary types:

  1. High Crawl: Used when there is some cover. The body remains slightly elevated, with weight supported by the elbows and knees.
  2. Low Crawl: Ideal for minimal cover, keeping the body as close to the ground as possible, often dragging oneself forward with forearms and toes.

Have you ever wondered what it is like to go through the infiltration course at Fort Leonard Wood? Here is your chance to crawl along with trainees from Company A, 1st Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment.

The crawl may seem basic, but its mastery can mean the difference between success and failure in critical situations. By honing this technique, individuals gain confidence in their ability to navigate under pressure while maintaining stealth and control.
