Call for Fire

Call for Fire is a critical procedure used to coordinate indirect fire support, such as artillery, mortars, or naval gunfire, on a designated target. It allows troops on the ground to communicate with supporting fire units to engage threats quickly and efficiently.

U.S. Military Academy cadets participate in call for fire training, July 5, 2018. In addition to exploring Field Artillery, cadets are exposed to multiple U.S. Army branches throughout Cadet Summer Training to familiarize them with the Army, introduce them to noncommissioned officers and Soldiers, and learn about their future careers.
