Bounding

Bounding is a fundamental tactical maneuver used in military operations to advance or retreat while maintaining a defensive posture and minimizing exposure to enemy fire. This technique involves the coordinated movement of troops or vehicles in alternating positions, ensuring constant coverage and readiness to engage if necessary.

1-171 Georgia National Guard and 2CR conduct a combined urban operations exercise with Georgian Special Forces, German Mechanized Infantry, and the Ukrainian Infantry Marines at Vaziani Training Area, Georgia Aug. 6, 2018 as part of Exercise Noble Partner 18. Noble Partner 18 is a Georgian Armed Forces and U.S. Army Europe cooperatively-led exercise in its fourth iteration. The exercise is intended to support and enhance the readiness and interoperability of Georgia, the U.S. and participating nations during a multinational training operation.

Bounding is more than just a tactical maneuver; it’s a testament to the importance of discipline, communication, and teamwork in military operations. By alternating between movement and overwatch, units can navigate dangerous environments effectively while protecting their personnel.
